CyberCity 3D GIS

CyberCity 3D™ the Perfect Solution for Esri® CityEngine®

Enhance planning with precise CyberCity 3D GIS models that give stakeholders the ability to view and analyze urban environments virtually in captivating 3D.   These accurate, data-rich models are a game-changer in Geodesign technology.

CyberCity 3D’s new class of 3D GIS buildings bring even greater value now:  They are optimized for integration into Esri CityEngine, a  dynamic, stand-alone software product that transforms 2D GIS data into smart 3D city models.  CityEngine, combined with CyberCity 3D’s precise 3D buildings, takes 3D GIS and Geodesign technology to a new level.

CyberCity 3D has optimized the CityEngine workflow process by seamlessly bringing its 3D buildings into the CityEngine platform, where they can be modified as needed.  This results in accurate visualization of the modeled area, including a wide range of automated measurements including:

  •   Line-of-site
  •   Building footprint locations
  •   Complete roof details
  •   Slope
  •   Solar azimuth
  •   Surface area
  •   Solar resource profiles
  •   Hydrodynamics and stormwater data

The Company’s 3D buildings can be created from the following sources:

  •     Aerial
  •     Oblique
  •     Satellite

Best of all, the building measurements are up to six inches accurate!

3D GIS Buildings include Feature Classes for the geospatial database, wherever it resides:

City of Las Vegas Solar Potential

A multitude of government and private entities can profit from the wealth of information stored in our 3D GIS buildings:

  • City Planners and Developers: Visualize the impact of proposed projects
  • GIS & Mapping Departments: Realize more accurate building footprints
  • Sustainability Planners: See solar resource potential from roof measurements and “green” buildings
  • Facility Managers:  Create and maintain building, infrastructure, and utilities
  • Civil Engineers: Perform line-of-sight and shadow analyses
  • Police, Fire, and Security:  Gain more complete situational awareness
  • Military Personnel:  Perform realistic mission and flight path analyses

What is GIS?

A Geographic Information System (GIS) equips users to manage, analyze, and share geographic data in a variety of applications.

CyberCity 3D creates 3D GIS buildings with its proprietary, semi-automated software technology which enables construction of 3D models of large areas from aerial, oblique, satellite imagery.    Through the use of stereo pairs and aerial images, we also measure and code relevant roof points to create 3D roof structures.

The resulting 3D maps allow stakeholders to communicate their plans by enriching the visualization and analysis, generating in amplified effectiveness in communicating ideas and information.

CyberCity 3D’s high quality models can be exported to a host of software file formats including Esri formats 2D basic and 3D Multipatch shapefiles, KML, KMZ,  Open Flight, and DXF.

3D GIS Buildings can be expressed in the form of two-dimensional maps (below):

3D Buildings can also be used to analyze 3D environments for a number of other useful applications:

Example: Line-of-Site Analysis. The Line of Site (part of 3D Analyst) calculates intervisibility between pairs of points given their position in 3D space and relative to a surface or features. It also determines what is visible along the lines between these points as they are profiled on the surface.

Example:  The Skyline Tool (part of 3D Analyst) generates a 3D polyline representing the line that divides the sky from the surface and/or features that touch the sky, based from the perspective of the observer location. An observer point; a functional or virtual surface; a range (from and to) of azimuths; and, optionally, features (which typically represent buildings) are added as input.
